DIFFA Dining By Design 2007-2013
About this project
Dining By Design is an annual charity fundraising event sponsored by the Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids (DIFFA). The event features a formal dinner where patrons dine at over 60 tables and dining areas–each designed and showcased by different architects, interior designers and fashion designers. The designs vary from the novel to the whimsical, but all must fit into an 11-foot cube area.
ABA was invited to participate as a designer in 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, and also as a mentor to the team of Pratt Institute architecture students participating in 2008’s event. ABA’s design for the 2010 event won the ASID Imagine Top Pick 2010 award for the event, and the SARA NY 2010 Design Award of Honor.
